DOOR SKIRTS
A new way to prevent floor mess when your bird is on their open door.

WELCOME TO
DOOR SKIRTS PLUS

I am Karen with Door Skirts Plus:

Hello and thank you for your interest in DoorSkirts Plus! My name is Karen Cash, owner and designer of the “doorskirts”. I have been owned by my two African Grey Parrots, Maggie and Peter, for 15 years – and while I love them to pieces I have to say, they sure can be messy! For years I endured the daily task of sweeping and vacuuming under my parrot’s cage. Every day I had to change the newspaper that lay under their cage door. Explain to company that I really had just changed it that very morning! There were many times I just wasn’t sure I wanted to commit myself to cleaning every day for years to come. It got worse when my new little pup, James, decided it was fun to grab the newspaper and run with it down the hall. Now not only were there droppings and treat debris under the cages but it was also strewn about the house. I thought for sure there would be a solution out there. There wasn’t. One evening I had had enough. James ran with that newspaper for the last time. I snatched a box of Grape Nuts cereal from atop the refrigerator, emptied the contents and started cutting and shaping little cardboard trays. I stapled the sides together and paper-clipped the little trays to the doors of Maggie and Peters cages. The next morning I woke to a pleasant surprise. There wasn’t a mess on the floor. All their droppings and food crumbs lay in the little trays. I learned that everyone I knew whom owned a parrot experienced the same problem I was having. None of us wanted to resort to locking our parrots in their cages, but when they were out they always seemed to sit atop the open cage door. It was a shame to always have unsightly newspaper laying underneath their cage doors but there was no alternative. Until now. I truly hope you will enjoy the long-lasting skirts and that you will benefit from the drastically reduced clean-up time you likely face each day. I’ve now had my skirts in use for 3 years. It is with great pleasure to have them on the market now and to be able to share them with you. Enjoy your parrots for a lifetime….
